Scholarly Abstract
Modern live-service competitive games (League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike) are not static artifacts, but living evolutionary ecosystems. We apply non-linear dynamical systems theory and Riot API telemetry to show how minor numeric balance adjustments trigger non-local topological reorganizations across entire competitive meta networks.
1. The Game as an Evolving Rule Stream
In traditional sports (Chess, Football), rules remain static for decades. In live-service games, the rulebook is mutated every 14 days via developer patches. This creates a non-stationary fitness landscape where player strategies continuously chase moving Nash equilibria.
